Question by Hannah: What should I name my online handmade jewelry shop?
I want to open up an Etsy shop to sell my handmade jewelry, but I can’t come up with a good name. My jewelry is fairly simple and versatile, designed for young adults to middle age women primarily. I use silver, antique brass and antique copper wire combined with crystals of many colors, metal beads and spacers, pearls, etc. My first name is Hannah and my last name starts with a K. I am open to including my name in the title but it is not a must. It is important, though, that my name match my style and be catchy and easy to remember. Thanks in advance for your help.

Question by scoot: any good books on how to start and have a successful jewelry/handmade crafts business? any good tips? thanks.?
i’m 17, and i make and sell jewelry and handmade crafts. last summer by selling at farmer’s markets and street fairs alone i made over 0. i think that this is a good thing for me to do during the summer, and possibly to do on the side after college when i am a music teacher.
do you know of any good books that will help me out in this endeavor? tips and tricks and key things i need to know?
any of your personal tips will be of tremendous help as well.

Answer by aylatroy2 Gongratulations and I think thats Awsome! If you want to continue the craft for profit and branch out a little you can always try swap meets, church bazzar sales and you could even hunt down a few of those little knick knack shops that sell hand made craft items. As for making it a business, just remember to factor in your time, material costs and price the end product accordingly. The Small Business for Dummies book is full of information. But if you really want a weekend of fun and see what others like you are doing, hit a few craft fairs in your area, watch the local papers and check with your local craft stores to see when one might be comming up, not only could you get a display table for yourself, but you could be networking with others who are like minded and can give you great ideas about how to take this further.
